As a Data Engineer, you’ll be part of our DevOps-focused data team, delivering data pipelines and supporting robust, secure, and scalable data platforms.
You’ll work in an Agile environment, collaborating with engineering, BI, and IT teams to ensure data is available, accurate, and trusted across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
Build and maintain automated data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and deployment
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for data platforms
Create reusable deployment templates for consistent environments
Develop monitoring and alerting for pipeline health and performance
Support high availability, resilience, and performance optimisation of data platforms
Implement security, compliance, and data access controls (e.g. RBAC, encryption)
Contribute to Agile delivery, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
Produce technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team
Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy across all data sources
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely data delivery
What you’ll bring:
Technical skills
Experience across the data development lifecycle within Data/BI environments
Strong technical capability across tools such as Azure, SQL, Power BI (and/or AWS)
Experience working with Azure data platforms (e.g. Synapse and related services)
Understanding of relational databases and data engineering principles
Experience building and maintaining databases and data management solutions
Experience & approach
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
Able to work independently and manage delivery to deadlines
A continuous improvement mindset and focus on business outcomes
Desirable
Knowledge of CRM systems and data structures
Awareness of data governance / MDM concepts
Experience within the social housing sector
Appointment to this role will be subject to satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
